The scientific journal InpAkta: Inpaktu Sozialerako Ikerlanen Akta – Journal of Research for Social Impact has launched a call for papers for its second issue.
Manuscripts in all areas of knowledge may be presented, provided that the research has a social impact. In other words, it has a certain contribution to society, culture, the environment, the economy or the potential to respond to the challenges of our territory.
In addition to the research contributions that can have a social impact, InpAkta invites from now on to also include proposals that contribute to the analysis and understanding of social impact itself. To this end, two new types of contributions will be accepted:
- Papers that analyze the social, economic, environmental, cultural or political impact of research projects. That is, contributions that collect evidence that are documented and critically analyzed.
- Papers that develop theoretical or methodological approaches to evaluate, demonstrate or enhance the social impact of research.
In general, we are interested in theoretical and conceptual contributions that deepen the academic debate about research that generates social impact and how these changes can be understood, measured and communicated.
Through the combination of empirical experiences, methodological innovations and theoretical reflections, this call seeks to promote dialogue on the contributions of research to respond to social challenges and generate value for communities, institutions and public policies.
Submissions may be in English or Basque. Each paper will be peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the field. The journal’s editorial board, which comprises more than 50 professionals from various disciplines, will oversee this process.
InpAkta will publish two issues annually, and once papers are accepted, they will be available online immediately, thus enabling the community to access them without having to wait until the full issue is released.
InpAkta is a non-profit editorial venture supported by the main academic and scientific institutions of the Euroregion of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, Euskadi and Navarre. Consequently, the journal will provide open access to all its contents. Authors will retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons License.
Among other guidelines for authors, it is important to highlight that InpAkta does not charge for either article submission charges or article processing charges (APCs).
Previous issues already available
The Journal has already published issue #0, which was presented in December 2023, and issue #1, in December 2025.
In addition to the scientific articles themselves, a dissemination summary of each paper is prepared in collaboration with the Elhuyar Foundation. These articles are intended for a broader audience, including those outside the academic field.
